KIOXIA Unveils the EXCERIA PLUS G2 Portable SSD Series

New portable flash storage device takes chic and timeless design for everyday users to the next level

KIOXIA Corporation, a worldwide leader in memory solutions, today announced the EXCERIA PLUS G2 Portable SSD Series, a new external storage solution scheduled to be released in November 2024[1]. Utilizing KIOXIA's SSD technology and BiCS FLASH™ 3D flash memory, the EXCERIA PLUS G2 Portable SSD Series features a compact, elegant, and handy [2] design that is ideal for on-the-go users.

Compact and easy-to-grip, this portable SSD series fits up to 2TB of data in the palm of your hand and is both highly shock-resistant and compatible with the standards of MIL-STD drop tests[3]. Smaller and lighter compared to the predecessor EXCERIA PLUS Portable SSD, the new EXCERIA PLUS G2 Portable SSD’s aluminum housing further improves ergon drop omics while enabling effective heat dissipation during heavy workloads. Carrying over the features of the predecessor, users can utilize KIOXIA’s SSD Utility management software for maintenance and monitoring and even add an extra layer of security with password protection. Password protection complies with TCG Opal Version 2.01 and protects your data with 256-bit AES hardware encryption.

With speeds of up to 1050MB/s read and 1000MB/s write [4], the EXCERIA PLUS G2 Portable SSD Series features a slim USB Type-C® connector with a USB 3.2 Gen2 interface enabling fast transferring of 4K videos and high-res photos. Capacities will be offered in 500GB, 1TB and 2TB[5]. The EXCERIA PLUS G2 Portable SSD includes both a Type-C to A and Type-C to C cable to ensure compatibility [6] on both current and legacy systems.
