KIOXIA USB Flash Drives

Our USB Flash Drive comes pre-formatted to FAT32 when shipped from the manufacturer. To reformat USB Flash Drive in a PC, use Windows OS or Mac OS standard formatters.

32GB or lower models:
Format TransMemory to FAT32 or exFAT only. Do not use other formatters.

64GB or higher models:
Format TransMemory to exFAT only. Do not use other formatters.

No, you may not unplug USB Flash Drive while it is reading or writing data. Doing so may cause data to be lost or may cause USB Flash Drive to malfunction.
Follow the steps below to unplug the Product from a USB port on a device while the device is up:

Windows (example of the following screens: Windows 10 20H2)

Click "Safely Remove Hardware" icon on the taskbar.
Click "Remove TransMemory".
Check "Remove Hardware" appearing on the window.
Unplug the Product.

macOS (example of the following screens: macOS 10.13.6)

Drag and drop " TransMemory" icon on the desktop to the trash icon.
Check that the " TransMemory" icon is disappearing. Unplug the Product.

We have not confirmed using a KIOXIA USB Flash Drive as a recovery drive* and do not recommend it. If you use it as a recovery drive, we cannot provide you with customer support.

*A recovery drive is a Microsoft Windows feature that creates data on external media to restore Windows to its initial state.

We have not confirmed using a KIOXIA USB Flash Drive as a recovery drive and do not recommend it. We cannot provide customer support if you have used the drive as a recovery drive. We also do not have the software to restore it to its original state.
